Our Story

In 2025, a group of passionate women, Cassie Ducharme, Mackenzie Hengerer, Laura Yunick, Amanda Wark, and Richelle Paiha—came together to create 100 Women Who Care Fort Macleod & Area, inspired by the success of similar chapters across Canada. The concept is simple and powerful: 100 women, each donating $100 four times a year, with the funds raised going to a local charity or non-profit organization. The idea is to make giving back easy and impactful, focusing on causes that have an immediate need in our own community.

A Growing Movement

This chapter is one of many that has emerged from a grassroots movement that started in 2006. It began with Karen Dunigan in Jackson, Michigan, who realized that she could gather a group of 100 women, each giving $100, to help solve a local need. This movement quickly grew and spread, with over 350 chapters now established worldwide, including ones for men, women, and even kids.

Fort Macleod’s Journey

Inspired by the success of 100 Women Who Care chapters in Calgary and other communities, the founders of 100 Women Who Care Fort Macleod & Area saw an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our local area. Their goal is simple: gather 100 women (or more) who want to contribute to Fort Macleod's growth and well-being.

Together, they plan to select a local cause each quarter, donate $100 each, and raise over $10,000 for a deserving organization. Whether it's for a local health initiative, an educational cause, or a non-profit in need, 100 Women Who Care Fort Macleod is committed to making a lasting difference.

The Impact

In the first eight years of the Calgary chapter, over $750,000 was raised for local charities. With the Fort Macleod chapter launching in 2025, the future is full of possibilities, and this simple yet powerful movement is just getting started.
